WE ARE MAD: Making A Difference

We wake up every day, our  mind full of to-dos, worries, enthusiasm for the day that’s starting, looking forward or dragging ourselves out of our comfy bed.

From the moment we put our feet on the ground by our bed, we are making decisions. We have been making decisions since young, sometimes sooner sometimes later in life, but we do. From the smallest to the biggest ones. We take decisions. Including not making one, it is a decision.

We take them alone, in family, in groups, as society, as countries. Some decisions we take directly ourselves, some others are taken for us. However, the most important ones are the ones we take day by day, many times a day. Because those shape our lives, and our experiences. Ultimately, our collective decisions shape our world, and the future of it.

So far, our decisions of overusing plastic took us here:

8.3 BILLION Metric Tons of plastic has been produced since plastic was introduced in the 1950s.[1] The amount of plastic produced in a year is roughly the same as the entire weight of humanity.

Virtually every piece of plastic that was ever made still exists in some shape or form (with the exception of the small amount that has been incinerated).[3]

91% of plastic waste isn’t recycled. And since most plastics don’t biodegrade in any meaningful sense, all that plastic waste could exist for hundreds or even thousands of years.[4]

What kind of world we want to live in?

The choices we make are what shape the world. And we do have the option to chose what is best, not only for ourselves and our families, but for others and for the whole world. We are one, intrinsically connected. The current state of affairs is not sustainable on time, we have scientific evidence that we cannot maintain the current level of consumerism and productivity for many more years. Something must change. And that something is you. is I. Is we, and our decisions that can change.

From the toothbrush you use every morning, to the food you put in your body, the things you buy and wear, the way you travel to work or school, the way you dispose your garbage and the amount you produce. The attention you give to certain information shapes the perception you have of life. And you can have an impact, that is how important you are as an individual. Every. Single. Choice. Counts.

We cannot sit and wait our world leaders stop this climate emergency before it becomes a climate change becomes a climate catastrophe.  We are the dominant force of change of the planet.

Make conscious decisions and live conscious life:
